Your Day
Journey along Tasmania’s coast to Kettering for the ferry to Bruny Island—watch for seals and other marine life. First, climb Truganini Lookout at The Neck, then continue to Adventure Bay for morning tea: freshly shucked oysters, artisan cheese and warm bread with tea/coffee, served beachside. Travel through rainforest to South Bruny National Park for the exclusive Cape Bruny Lighthouse tour—learn about its convict past, shipwrecks and keepers while soaking up the views. Keep an eye out for whales, white wallabies, eagles and more. Afterward, unwind over a one-course local lunch at Hotel Bruny (veg/GF options). Dave our tour driver and leader was exceptional especially his knowledge of Tasmania particularly Bruny Island. Group of 12 people was just enough size.Highly recommend bus tour because you learn more with local people than driving in your own car.
Grant was fantastic. His knowledge of the island was invaluable. As we had a little time, he let us quickly stop to buy cheese from the cheese, we got to taste at mornings tea. I was quick. The island is beautiful and well worth exploring.
The guide was a real asset. His commentary and humour filled in where the weather could not.
